Jakiś czas temu administratorzy Llama Appreciation Society (oficjalny fanklub zespołu) dali członkom Fanklubu możliwość zadania kilku pytań muzykom Silverchair. Odpowiedzi na najciekawsze pytania zostały niedawno opublikowane. Poniżej macie możliwość ich przeczytania (tekst jest w oryginale, bo nie chciało mi się tego tłumaczyć Razz

Daniel:

1. If a movie was ever going to be made about the band's career which actor would you want to play you?

Gwyneth Paltrow.

2. Individually your styles differ, yet you all manage to come together and create seamless records. Who are some of your biggest influences and why? How have they affected your music?

Anything that has good ideas and is adventurous without being progressive rock.

3. How were the new songs written? Piano or guitar?

Both actually. Mainly guitar and synthesizers for this record.

4. Who are you looking into as far as the producer for the next album? Is it more likely to be Daniel, Paul Mac or somebody outside the group's "circle?"

Myself and Nick Launay will produce the record this time around and we are looking forward to making something special…….. probably….

5. Are there any outside sources that affect or deviate the song writing process (such as producers, record executives, etc.) and do you feel you have more freedom from those sources now than before?

It feels to me that the only thing I have to do is make/write our best and most cohesive record. No-one has really affected the process directly but everyone and everything around me influences what I do to some extent lyrically and musically.

6. Where does the inspiration for your songs and lyrics come from, past and present?

The future and the past. The present is seldom used as it becomes the past by the time I have written it down!

7. Is Paul Mac going to feature more on the new album and is he likely to be included in the line-up for the new album tours?

Paul will play most of the keys on this record and is doing a fine job….who said anything about tours???!!!!

8. I was wondering what direction the band is heading to next? Over the years the band and music style has progressed and changed dramatically and each of you has your own style, will it be similar to Diorama? Or will it be another surprise?

This record is different to any of our other records and i tried to write more songs to dance to..

9. When making music, what is it about the music that really turns you on? Is it the melody, the harmony, the beat, the vibe, the lyrics, the crunch, the musicality? The combination of all of those..?

Everything good, and what to avoid doing, and what to embrace, and what to dislike and what to love and…………

10. How do you decide what songs to play at your concerts? Do you pick the songs that you like playing the most, the songs that you think will work best with the audience, or do you have some other criteria?

Usually what we feel like playing combined with what people would like us to play but mostly what we are enjoying playing at that time so it isn’t like a chore on stage.

BEN:

1. What's in your CD player right now?

I’ve had the JB’s (James Brown’s backing band) on high rotation. Getting my groove ready for recording.

2. What are your inspirations?

In term of playing the drums, John Bonham and James Brown would have to be my 2 biggest, but overall musically it’s always changing. I’ve been getting right into Bowie. Very inspiring!

3. I've read that you guys enjoy wine, what’s your favourite brands?

I only drink Penfolds Grange! And I don’t drink it if it was bottled after 1990.

5. Individually your styles differ, yet you all manage to come together and create seamless records. Who are some of your biggest influences and why? How have they affected your music?

James Brown. He gave me the funk.

6. Do you find that having experienced so much so early in life, the band has returned stronger than ever? If so, in what ways?

Our weightlifting techniques are now flawless. We have huge biceps!

7. Your fans would obviously recognise you anywhere. Do you ever recognise your fans?

Very occasionally.

8. How do you guys feel about your fans getting Silverchair tattoos? I myself got one yesterday morning (the dancers off Neon Ballroom... One on the inside of each ankle) And I was just wondering if you hear of many people doing this, to show their supportand appreciation of your band...

I use to think it was a little weird, but since getting a tattoo of James Brown it doesn’t bother me. I consider it a compliment.

9. Do you think you'll do a big tour for the next album?

Yep!

10. Out of all of Silverchair's song, which one is your favourite to play live and why?

Hmm…. So many tracks, so many options. It really depends on the mood you’re in, but at the moment I’ll say ‘The Man That Knew To Much’. The title may change but its one of the new tracks. Fun groove!

CHRIS

1. Where do you all see yourselves in 20 years?

I would really love to still be involved in and around lots of music, it would be great to still be making records with Ben and Daniel.

2. Over Silverchair's career, what has been the standout experience that the band has had?

A standout experience for me would have to be the across the night tour. It looked like at one stage that we may never get the chance to tour diorama so once we got the chance it was a very special one for me.

3. How does it feel to have the Silverchair machine back in action in 2006?

It’s a great feeling to be back playing as a band and some new songs on the way. Can’t wait to get into full swing.

4. Is the relationship between the band members still strong???

I would say that it is even better and stronger than before, we are really enjoying playing as a band again and just hanging out!

5. Individually your styles differ, yet you all manage to come together and create seamless records. Who are some of your biggest influences and why? How have they affected your music?

We all have different tastes and influences which I think helps to create what we have but also there is a lot that we all enjoy together. I really like Neil Young, strange old blues stuff , Wilco, Jim O’Rourke, Hendrix, and heaps of stuff with great grooves.

6. Just wondering if any of u have taken on jobs other than music at any stage while u haven't been touring, if so what were they?

I great mate of mine is a builder and during some of the time I did some building work with him which was pretty cool. Lots of really early mornings, I don’t think I had ever seen so many sun rises in a row.

7. Which has been your all time favourite performance and why??

I now have a new all time fav gig and that would be the Gaelic Club warm up show we just did. It was unreal, heaps of friends and family and the first time we had played some of the new stuff which is always a good feeling that only happens once. A few butterflies though.

8. Do you plan on doing a tour in the US to promote the new album when it comes out? and when would this be? next year?...the year after?

We will definitely be doing a tour in the US once the record is out there, to be safe I reckon that will be next year. Really looking forward to it!!

9. Is it difficult to keep your energy levels up and to stay focused while on long tours? I know that you have to be "professional", but truthfully - how do you keep going!!

It does get hard sometimes if you have been doing a bit of press or a late gig and an early flight the next morning. You may feel a bit tired during the day but for me once the gig starts you can always find a bit more. Just the excitement!

Ja jakieś 7 lat temu, kiedy byłam jeszcze 'malutka' wlazłam na ich stronę do działu "ask a question" i wysłałam pytanie "can you ride a horse?" bo to było pierwsze pytanie, które sobie przypomniałam z podręcznika angielskiego. do dziś sobie myślę jakie to było idiotyczne Razz
